HISTORICAL BRIEF

The Lonko Kilapang Development Corporation was created in the year 1986 under the name of Lonko Kilapan Mapuche Company. Our institution arises as a need of technical, productive and cultural support and strengthening of the organizational procesess of families and mapuche comunities..

The Mapuche Company Lonko Kilapan emerges from a historical context in which getting the necessary resourses for the mapuche people was a difficult task, as Chile was under a military regimen at the time.

With the making up of our Mapuche Society Lonko Kilapang it was possible to find support from Humanitary Organizations of developed countries in Europe. Which allowed the elaboration of outlined plans to promote the Mapuche People´s development.
